SS Jeremiah O’Brien

A working WWII ship hidden in plain sight.

If it weren’t for Alcatraz, cable cars, The Golden Gate Bridge, fog, crab, and a sourdough bowl full o’chowder, the O’Brien would be the Bay Area’s biggest attraction. One of two surviving Liberty Ships, she was part of the D-day invasion and, now, takes residents and tourists for special cruises. This year, she’s helping commemorate the Golden Gate Bridge’s 75th Anniversary. A week to produce ads for pre-bought media, no budget, no photography, selling a cruise aboard a ship no one knows about means headline ads that sell the 75th Anniversary Cruise now, followed by a branding campaign later (if they let us fire the guns).
